The Hinterland Blues AFL Club has a long and storied history on the Sunshine Coast, established in 1970 and formerly known as Nambour and Hinterland AFC. Based in Palmwoods, we have members from under 6's all the way through to our senior men's and women's teams.

The Hinterland Blues are one club. We field Junior, Youth boys and girls, Senior men’s and Women’s teams. Whilst we love to win and have had many successes across our history, we also value community and the participation of all our members. We are a club but more importantly we are a family and an extension of our local community!

Senior Women's Coach EOI

Position Summary

Our women’s program continues to grow each year, and in 2026 we are seeking to appoint a Senior Coach (and supporting coaches) to lead and manage our QFAW Division 2 North Women’s Team.

We are looking for a passionate, positive, and experienced leader who can continue to develop our program, focusing on player growth, recruitment, game strategy, and a cohesive team culture that reflects our club’s values.

Games are typically played on Saturday afternoons, and we understand that family and work commitments come first.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training programs focused on skill development, structure, and player improvement
• Lead and manage the team on game day
• Build a positive, inclusive, and high-energy culture
• Actively recruit new players and help grow the women’s program
• Work with our senior men’s and junior programs to promote pathways and club unity
• Support player retention, welfare, and engagement

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Level 1 AFL Coaching Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
• Current Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• A genuine passion for women’s football and community sport
• Previous coaching experience preferred but not essential

Coaching accreditation support and professional development opportunities will also be considered.

QFA Div 3 Sunshine Coast Friday Night Competition Men’s Coach

The Nambour & Hinterland Blues AFL Club is seeking expressions of interest for the Senior Men’s Coach for our QFA Division 3 Sunshine Coast Friday Night  team for the 2026 season.

Established in 1970, the Blues are based in Palmwoods and proudly represent the Sunshine Coast hinterland. We’re a true community club, fielding teams from Under 6s through to Seniors, united by our family values, competitive spirit, and deep local roots.

Position Summary

The Thirds Coach will lead our Division 3 Friday Night Team. We are looking for a coach who can lead, recruit, and develop players, foster leadership within the playing group, and work with our senior coaching group for the betterment of our senior program across the men’s and women’s competition.  

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, structured training sessions
• Lead the team on game day with clear communication and tactical acumen
• Recruit and retain players to strengthen the playing list
• Develop individual player skills and leadership qualities
• Support pathways from juniors through to seniors
• Work collaboratively with club officials, assistant coaches, and volunteers

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Level 1 AFL Coaching Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
• Current Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
• Strong leadership, communication, and game knowledge
• Previous senior coaching or assistant coaching experience preferred but not essential
• Commitment to club culture, teamwork, and community
